One CCTV camera right across Opera House bomb gives hope of a break
Investigators studying hours of CCTV footage from around the three
blast sites in Mumbai are hoping that their first break could come from
one of the 60 CCTV cameras in Panchratna building in Opera House. This
camera is fixed right above the rear exit gate of the building and the
bomb exploded diagonally opposite this gate, sources said.
A team of investigators is studying hours of footage from this and
other cameras. This crucial camera above the exit gate is believed to
have shot images, to the extreme left of which is the area where the
blast was centred. Images from this camera are also being marked for
movements of people who the officers feel are even remotely suspicious.
This camera, incidentally, was the latest to be added to the ones
that monitor the highly guarded diamond trading hub. ¡°We have 60
cameras in our compound of which 59 were fixed five years ago. During
the tenure of a previous commissioner, it was felt that we need to keep
a watch on the exit route too. It was then that we installed this
camera last year,¡± said a Panchratna official.

into the sun is a little less romantic. (It causes chemical and thermal

And yet, being told not to stare into the sun is still like being
